Grand Prix™
The Grand Prix™ Chair was designed by the Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen in 1957 and presented at the Spring Exhibition of Danish arts and crafts at the Danish Museum of Art & Design in Copenhagen. Originally known as the Model 3130, the chair was renamed after it won the Grand Prix™ at the XI. Triennale di Milano in 1957. The Grand Prix™ chair was originally produced with wooden legs however, these were later replaced by the metal undercarriage used on the 3107s.
Thanks to new production methods the chair is now available in the original design. Despite the affordable price, the chair remains exclusive. The attention to detail and the unique design create a bold and exceptional statement that makes the Grand Prix™ chair as relevant today as it was more than 50 years ago. The chair will blend elegantly into a wide variety of settings as a great example of furniture design that is able to influence and elevate an entire room by its mere presence and beauty.
