A record 200 events are scheduled for the urban festival, held for the 11th time on 3–13 September. This year’s theme is Time Machine, and the main venue will be the L3 Design Dock in Jätkäsaari.
The programme of events at the L3 Design Dock offers exhibitions, seminars and a rich array of stage programme over five days, from 9–13 September. Interior architect Joanna Laajisto is responsible for the exhibition architecture. Throughout the event visitors to the L3 Design Dock will be served by a café designed by Laajisto inspired by late summer garden parties, which will offer delicacies concocted by wild herb cook Sami Tallberg.
The L3 Design Dock will house 40 Finnish and international top brands in design: Adora, Aksi, ARKTIS, Ateljé Sotamaa, Camilla Moberg Designs, Catalina, Durat, Hanna Sarén, HermanMiller, Inno, Innofusor, Innolux, Isku, Johanna Gullichsen Textile Craft & Design, Kairo Collection, Kinnarps, Muunto, Muurame, Nikari, Nomart, Ofisea, Orient Occident, Puustelli, SAAS Instruments, Secto Design, Showroom Finland, Solulight, Studio Arto Halmetoja, Studio HH, Studio Karin Widnäs, Suomen Käsityön Ystävät, Tetrimäki, Tuulia Penttilä, Vepsäläinen, VM Carpet and Woodnotes.
Special exhibitions will also have a place in the event: current Japanese design will be on display in the Japanese Design Revisited exhibition by Lexus, and the safety of life will be explored in an installation by LähiTapiola and HDW. Other special exhibitions include the Nordic Mash-up 1+1+1, art and industry by Samuli Naamanka, Lego + Aalto + HDW 2015 Studio as well as the best student work from Aalto University and Metropolia. The L3 Design Dock Stage will offer a separate and multifaceted daily programme.
