News from Källemo @ Stockholm Furniture Fair 2001

Press Information Furniture Fair 2001 Stand C-hall II-41

In 1981, Källemo presented the concrete chair Concrete by Jonas Bohlin. A piece of furniture with an unexpected choice of material and in a pure, simple, self-evident design language. We wrote already then that Concrete in its form had its roots in the 1920s and Dutch constructivism.

The Icelander Sigurdur Gustafsson continues this in the Skylark furniture series, where color, form, and construction are influenced by the Dutch De Stijl group, with Mondrian and Rietveld in mind. The Take Away lamp, and now the new models – armchair and stool – in stainless steel and rope braiding document Sigurdur Gustafsson as an innovative and fearless designer.

In 2001, Källemo now presents the NON chair in rubber, by Boris Berlin and Poul Christensen. The archetype of a pure, simple chair form cast in rubber. A new milestone in modern furniture history? It holds up in wet and dry conditions.

Mats Theselius is a confident and self-assured artist who does what comes to his mind. The Olé chair in brass/leather and Elektra in anodized aluminum/leather. A longer trip to India, which Mats made some time ago, resulted in an idea to realize something he had dreamed about since early youth. A few years ago, we launched the Källemo bicycle, now Källemo comes with a motorcycle redesigned by Mats Theselius. Hommage Royal Enfield by Mats Theselius.

In our showroom at Skeppargatan 4, we present a new furniture series in steel and leather by Mattias Ljunggren, furniture types that broaden the design language he previously expressed in the Cobra and Gute series.

Best regards, Erik Lundh
