Ester – a new addition to the Johanson family
Alexander Lervik and Johanson’s have enjoyed a long-running design collaboration. A number of new pieces have been launched over the years, which today make up a significant element of Johanson’s product port-folio. In 2017 the Edith armchair was introduced and now, in spring 2018 it is being joined by a new member of the family – Ester. Ester is a conference chair that offers excellent comfort along with design features that have a clear connection with Edith.
Ester is based on a chair that was part of the range during the 1970s. “I found an old armchair from the 1970s in Johanson’s warehouse that was so wonder-fully comfortable to sit in that we decided to update the design while retaining the dimensions,” says Alexander. The result was Ester, a slender conference chair that is very comfortable.
Thanks to Johanson’s skilled upholsterers, the fabric covers are available in endless variations and the wood or metal frame is also available in different colours. Ester is made in-house at Johanson’s own production plant in Markaryd.
