”My carpets are transferred from simple aquarelle sketches. Subconsciously I keep returning to a theme I have worked on at different periods. For me the work on Silhouette is just the beginning of a long, exiting journey. I have worked with textiles and weaving in different contexts before, but never as extensively as with these carpets. A whole world opens up consisting of different structures, materials, colours and hues. Carpets are sensual. They affect the mood in a room. They affect sound, light and colour. We walk on them, sometimes with bare feet. We can rest upon them.”
