A FULL DOZEN
It began with an idea for a dinner table for twelve — and twelve Popglas, each with its own color language and its own personality. Three glasses at a time, the family has grown. Now the series is complete.

When Mårten, Gustav, and Henrik Cyrén brought their father Gunnar Cyrén’s Popglas back to life, the ambition was to carry the story forward and let the glasses live on in a new era. The originals launched back in 1967, and with their cheerfully striped stems became a playful and radical presence in the Swedish glass world.
Today, each Popglas is hand-blown by master glassblowers and brothers Stefan and Mikael Erlandsson at Ulvens Glashytta outside Uppsala. Both bring long experience from Glasriket and continue to work the Swedish glassblowing craft on a small scale. Every Popglas belongs to a limited, numbered edition.
This is a defining part of the glasses’ identity. Behind every piece lies a craft where experience, precision, and a feel for the material matter greatly. No Popglas is meant to be an anonymous, industrial object. There should be room for humanity in the handmade.
At the same time, the Popglas are made to be used.
They are not the thinnest, most delicate glasses you hesitate to bring out. They have more body, feel substantial in the hand, and are pleasant to drink from. Wine, water, beer, cocktails, or soda — from the start, the idea was that they should work for many different occasions.
Perhaps that is exactly where the Popglas’s particular luxury lies. Not in being fragile or ceremonial, but in the fact that something as everyday as a glass can be hand-blown, numbered, and made by skilled Swedish glassblowers — and still feel completely natural to use.
Fine enough for the party. Comfortable enough for a Tuesday.
Each glass in the series has been given its own identity. Some are high-contrast and command attention, others are quieter and more understated. The ambition was never for them to match perfectly, but rather for the differences to create the whole.
Now all twelve are gathered together.

For those who have already started collecting, there is the chance to complete the set. For those who have followed the Popglas’s journey, the whole family is finally in place.
