JLP116 – a generic and stackable chair
The P77 chair was launched in 2011 and now it’s time for Jonas Lindvall’s and Johanson’s second joint project. Common to both launches is that both materials and manufacturing processes have been challenged to the utmost. Remarkably often, PUR, the main material used in the JLP116, has only been used in chairs and furniture as an upholstery material with embedded frames. The JLP116 challenges this standard usage.
“One of our goals has been to make use of the intrinsic physical properties of PUR as far as possible and, at the same time, to try to minimize the amount of material used, to save weight and money. And to do this in combination with a strong but light steel frame,” says Jonas Lindvall.
The aim has been to create a generic, stackable chair for o ce and commercial environments with harmonious proportions and dimensions so that it can be used for large events both indoors and outdoors.
JLP116 is available in black, dark grey, dark blue, light blue, red, pink, orange, citrus and lime. The steel frame can be manufactured in 194 RAL colours. JPL116 is made entirely in Sweden.
