The planning for Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2022 is in full swing. Find out more in the interview with our Concept & Product Owner, Sanna Gebeyehu.
Tell us about the plans for Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2022.
This year has given us new experience and knowledge, as well as a drive to develop. Instead of continuing where we left off, we want to take all the good bits and add some new ideas. The planning has involved a dialog with exhibitors, visitors and journalists to identify how we can best meet the expectations for a “new start” post Covid-19. All that input will now be taken on board as we work towards 2022.
Can you tell us about any new features for the fair?
The physical platform will take on a new form, and more details about that will be announced at a later date. Without giving too much away, I can say that we are planning a range of activities with the sharpest focus ever on Scandinavian design, architecture, innovation, sustainability and lifestyle. Scandinavian design and that whole look are the product of a lifestyle we have up here in the “north” – one that we are very proud of and many people from other parts of the world are curious about.
So many of us are now longing to get together, meet friends and customers in the industry, establish new relationships, see and actually touch products and discuss design. But the pandemic has also shown the importance of our digital platforms, so we are working on developing them as a great complement to the physical event.
What are you most looking forward to?
The pandemic may have prevented us from seeing each other and doing what we want to do, but it has not stifled the creativity of our exhibitors, designers and architects, or indeed us! It is going to be incredibly exciting to unveil everything that we have been working on when we can meet again.
Can exhibitors confidently book their stand for the fair in February 2022?
Yes, absolutely. There is every indication that we will be able to hold a physical fair in week 6 of 2022. If, against all expectations, the fair cannot take place, you will still be able to promote yourself on our digital channels and also transfer your registration fee to the next fair.
Finally, is there anything you would like to add?
Just that we are so thrilled about opening our physical and digital doors to Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair and Stockholm Design Week in 2022!
Until then, stay safe!
Best regards,
Sanna Gebeyehu and the team from Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair
