INTRODUCING NEW CLAM™ FLOOR AND TABLE LAMPS

Fritz Hansen extends the Clam™ lighting series of original Danish design with new luminaires for dining and living spaces.

The impressive craftsmanship of Clam comes to light on a table lamp and a floor lamp in the same brushed brass and opal glass as the series’ original pendant light designs. Graceful in both form and function, the new designs fuse tradition and modernity to create beautiful and illuminating statements in a range of settings.

“A natural extension of the Clam Collection, the new designs bring more lighting options to living spaces, completing the award-winning collection by seamlessly connecting a room across multiple zones,” explains Marie-Louise Høstbo, Creative Design Director at Fritz Hansen. “All the lamps within the series work together to create a unified look and feel.”

As a task light for desks, a reading lamp for a cosy corner or a more sculptural piece, the Clam Table Lamp emits warm, glare-free light from its static yet sculpted opal glass shade, mouth-blown by skilled craftsmen. Its unconventional on/off switch which is integrated into the stem delivers a carefully choreographed response for a unique user experience.

The Clam Floor Lamp sets the mood in living and dining rooms and lounge areas in both private and public spaces. Its generously proportioned opal glass shade provides cosy, atmospheric light while its slender brass stem and fixtures will develop a unique patina over time.

“We worked simultaneously with the silhouettes of all the lamps in the collection, through drawings, models and materials, to create consistency and a kinship between designs,” note designers Isabel Ahm and Signe Lund on the new additions. “We looked to the contours, proportions and details to ensure that both the table and floor lamps deliver soft, ambient light, softening the shadows in a room and creating a welcoming atmosphere.”
