A corner sofa and chaise longue module complete Anderssen & Voll’s Inland – a sofa series where Italian flair meets Scandinavian minimalism.
Designed by Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll, the Inland series offers an architectural framework that prioritises comfort without compromising on style.
A discerning blend between clean lines and subtle curves, the latest expansion to the Inland series offers users a complete collection of lounge pieces to choose from. Initially released as a two and three-seater sofa, with the later addition of a lounge chair and pouf, the final entries to the family include a corner sofa, and 3-seater sofa with a right or left chaise longue module.
In-keeping with the original design, the new pieces offer ample seating mounted on the same steel foot base – a feature developed to create the illusion of floating and to lighten the overall presence.
The self-contained shape of the Inland lounge series pays homage to classic midcentury lounge pieces from Anderssen & Voll’s native Norway, while its plush cushion interior draws inspiration from Italian design. A pouf, modelled in the same style as the lounge chairs and sofas, doubles up as a functional alternative to a coffee table. The pieces culminate in a sophisticated set of designs that create an area in which one can unwind.
“The Inland collection is a lifted installation of comfort hovering above the floor,” Explains Voll of their creation, “while the delicate steel leg base allows for an unobstructed flow of space. The new modules complete the Inland family, allowing the option to create an expansive retreat for comfort and relaxation.”
Whether used as a full lounge series in spaces like hotel lobbies or offices, or mixed and matched to suit a home interior, the Inland series guarantees an instant sense of comfort and relaxation regardless of the setting, thanks to the ample depth of its seating.
The entire Inland series is available in a range of upholstery options, from classic leather and contemporary linen to warm and welcoming wool. The legs are available in a warm black powder-coated steel or a cooler-toned, polished steel.
Based in Oslo, partners Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll have been instrumental in putting Norway on the global design map ever since they joined forces in 2009. Anderssen & Voll have received numerous international awards for their work within furniture, lighting and home accessories, including the Wallpaper* Design Awards, the Red Dot and iF Awards, as well as other accolades for Best Designs and Best Designers of the year. And yet they approach each new project with a feeling of freedom.
