The Less sofa design by Lars Tornøe Now in smoked oak! – LK Hjelle

Less is more

Meet LESS, the sofa that’s all about keeping things refreshingly uncomplicated. Picture this: casual cushions and a sturdy wooden base, teaming up to create a blend of comfort and functionality – less is more, but never at the expense of style or quality.

We’ve skipped the glue and staples to keep things clean and simple. And if a part ever needs a refresh? No problem! Every component is designed for easy at-home replacement and the design supports flat-packed transport.

A fully functional sofa

The idea for the sofa was born when Lars asked himself the following question: What is minimum required to construct a fully functional sofa?

And the solution was: a simple wooden frame that serves as the ‘backbone’ of the entire sofa, both aesthetically and functionally. This frame is deliberately visible from all angles, acting as a pedestal for the soft cushions. All auxiliary components securely anchor to this primary structure.

While seat springs are pre-fitted at our factory, assembly of the legs and supports for the backs and armrests are done by the user. After this, the backs and armrests are easily slid onto their supports, and the seat cushions are subsequently positioned.
