Bullnose Chair and Lounge Chair by Marco Campardo for HEM

Marco Campardo’s Bullnose Chair by HEM – New Leather and Sheepskin Seatpads

London-based designer Marco Campardo has expanded his Bullnose seating collection for Swedish furniture manufacturer HEM with custom-fit seatpads available in leather, sheepskin, or fabric.

The new additions enhance comfort while preserving the distinctive sculptural silhouette that characterizes the Bullnose Chair and Lounge Chair.

The Bullnose Lounge Chair features a low-slung, deeply inclined profile with gentle rounding that creates an inviting form for extended relaxation. Constructed from solid wood with characteristic bullnose-shaped wooden sections, the chair maintains a unique profile that provides both visual impact and structural robustness. The deep and wide seat accommodates comfortable lounging sessions, while the stained beech construction offers various finish options.

The custom-fit seatpads bring warmth, texture, and additional comfort to the seating experience without compromising the chair’s strong geometric form. Available in three material options – leather, sheepskin, or fabric – the seatpads address different aesthetic and tactile preferences while maintaining the design’s sculptural integrity.

Marco Campardo operates a London-based design practice focused on production, research, and teaching. His work centers on making and material experimentation as critical practice, exploring narratives about culture, materiality, identity, and authenticity through hands-on research. Campardo’s design process begins with material experimentation to question contemporary production models, resulting in aesthetically and conceptually refined objects whose final form emerges from the making process itself. His approach combines high-end and lo-fi methods and materials as commentary on the value of making and craftsmanship.

The Bullnose Chair shares design characteristics with its lounge sibling while maintaining proportions suited to dining applications. Both versions feature the distinctive bullnose-shaped wooden sections that give the collection its name and structural stability. The stained beech construction allows for different color variations to suit various interior contexts.

HEM’s collaboration with Campardo demonstrates the Swedish manufacturer’s commitment to working with international designers whose practice emphasizes material exploration and production methods as integral to design outcomes.
