Design in all forms, for everyone

Stockholm Design Week is back in 2027 with a renewed vision: Design in all forms, for everyone.

The ambition is simple yet powerful: to make design more visible, more accessible, and more inclusive than ever before.

Stockholm Design Week is back 2027 – Design in all forms, for everyone

In February 2027, Stockholm Design Week reaffirms its role as a gathering force. Evolving under a clear direction — Broad and for everyone — the week opens up design to both industry professionals and, to an even greater extent, the general public.

This broader direction aligns with the city’s ambition to further strengthen Stockholm’s position on the global design map.
-“Stockholm Design Week highlights why Stockholm is one of Europe’s most exciting design cities. Here, design, innovation and sustainability come together in an ecosystem where design is not only about aesthetics, but about shaping how we live, work and build the cities of the future. With a strong creative scene, global companies and a new generation of designers, Stockholm continues to be a natural meeting place for the international design community,”says Caroline Strand, Deputy CEO Stockholm Business Region.

This shared vision is central to how Stockholm Design Week continues to evolve.
-“Our aim is for Stockholm Design Week 2027 to bring together voices from across design disciplines, showcasing the full breadth of Swedish and Scandinavian design culture,” says Annika Gehöör, Director of Stockholm Design Week and Stockholm Furniture Fair. “With an expanded range of participants — including museums, restaurants, shops, cultural institutions, and other creative actors — the week creates a platform where design is not only presented, but experienced.”

A city structured around design
New for 2027, participants across the city will be organized into clearly defined clusters and areas, making it easier for visitors and exhibitors alike to navigate the program. These clusters simplify collective activities, with clear communication that highlights and encourages visitors to explore each district.

Expanding through new partnerships
To broaden its reach, the week is forming new strategic collaborations across multiple industries. Additional partners will be announced in the coming months, and organizations or actors interested in contributing to or shaping the 2027 edition are encouraged to get in touch.

A vibrant international meeting place
Each year, the event welcomes visitors from around the world to the progressive atmosphere unique to Stockholm. The upcoming edition of Stockholm Design Week will further evolve into a dynamic, city‑wide experience — one that brings people together and celebrates design in all its forms, inviting everyone to take part.

A Gathering Force
All participants will be connected through the official Stockholm Design Week app, which serves as the primary navigation tool for exploring the city’s program. Throughout the year, the app will be enhanced to improve accessibility, discoverability, and overall user experience.
At the heart of the city, the SDW Hub will continue to serve as the central meeting point — a space to gather, reflect, and connect after a day filled with design encounters.

Stockholm Design Week will continue its tradition as an annual celebration of design in the beginning of February every year.

Stockholm Furniture Fair will run biannually from February 2027.
