Soma Design Småland has introduced Cricket, a new family of picnic furniture and bar tables designed by Egoé Studio.
The series takes its name from the grasshopper, whose angular silhouette and light, elongated form inform the collection’s proportions and expression.
Cricket is available as both low bench tables and tall bar tables, in configurations for two or more users. The pieces can be linked together to form extended dining arrangements, making the series suitable for intimate settings as well as larger public spaces such as plazas, parks, and campuses.
The two-person high bench table — Cricket Högt Bänkbord 2pl — is designed for narrow sites and one-on-one encounters. A small footrest and a lightly contoured seat contribute to an ergonomic sitting position.
Behind the series is Radek Hegmon, founder and chief designer of Egoé Studio, based in Bílovice, Czech Republic. Hegmon has been designing outdoor and public space furniture since the early 1990s, with work spanning street furniture, transport infrastructure, camping interiors, and sporting equipment.
Cricket is produced by Soma Design Småland, a Swedish manufacturer of outdoor and public furniture.
