Grounded in natural stone, the Doric Coffee Table by GamFratesi continues its exploration of material through two new marble expressions: Honey Amber and Stormy Gray, extending the collection beyond its Neutral White travertine edition.

While the sculptural form remains rooted in the restrained language of Classical architecture, the new marbles shift the atmosphere of the design through depth, movement, and contrast. Honey Amber introduces a warm and rich expression, while Stormy Gray brings a cool, graphic character defined by gray hues ranging from light to dark. Together, the stones bring distinct new personalities to Doric’s monolithic form.

Marble as atmosphere

Reduced to essential forms – a monolithic tabletop balanced on four sculptural legs – the Doric Coffee Table allows marble to become the defining visual language of the design. The inward curve of each leg, inspired by the fluting of Classical Doric columns, softens the monumentality of the stone while introducing rhythm and shadow to the architectural form.

In Honey Amber, the marble carries layered honey, sand, and blush-pink-toned mineral formations. Cloud-like cream patterns drift across warm yellow and honey-brown tones to create a rich, atmospheric, and expressive surface with an almost painterly quality. In Stormy Gray, pronounced fractured veining and shifting gray tonalities move across the stone through dynamic mineral compositions, moving from pale gray surfaces to deeper charcoal tones to form a more graphic expression. Chosen by GamFratesi for their distinct material qualities, both marbles emphasize the natural complexity of the stone, allowing each table to carry its own atmosphere and presence.

Formed through geological movement and mineral transformation, marble carries variation within its very structure.
