Heden
Is a new collaborative effort between Takumi Kohgei and Danish designer, Anker Bak.
Inspired by the great Danish masters of design and centuries-old Japanese craftsmanship the series puts functional design and simplicity first.
The series is named Heden in English “The Heath” paying homage to a preserved and endangered natural heathland region in Denmark. Heden furniture promotes a lifestyle of simplicity and mindfulness, encouraging us to live in harmony with nature and pass down these pieces through generations.
Indsande
The Indsande trio revolves around the daybed, accompanied by a complementary stool and table, all guided by the principle of organic simplicity. The name “Indsande” means “In sand” and is derived from the numerous inland sand dunes found in the Danish heathland which served as inspiration for Anker Bak in designing the daybed and the subtly undulating upholstery.
Design
The Indsande daybed is designed to effortlessly blend into any small room or office space, offering a visually pleasing aesthetic from all angles. With a focus on transparent and functional construction principles, it showcases Bak’s dedication to ease of use and simplicity.
Crafted with an organic molded plywood frame, the daybed mimics how the wast heathland envelops the sand dune-inspired cushions.
The Indsande daybed serves equally well as a comfortable sofa, a high-quality guest bed, or a peaceful spot for a well-deserved power nap once the cushions are removed.
