The Nude Edition
A scaled-down fair concept with a strong focus on sustainability and solidarity at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2021
The Nude Edition is Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair’s new stand concept, developed with the Swedish Federation of Wood and Furniture Industry (TMF) to meet the challenges we all face in dealing with COVID-19.
Because even though we know that it is difficult to plan for a trade fair when the world looks the way it does, we who work with Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair are convinced of one thing. Is there ever a time when we together need to roll up our sleeves and do what is best for the industry and our common future, it is now.
The Nude Edition is an exhibition concept focusing on both financial and material sustainability, plus of course the safety of visitors and exhibitors in the face of COVID-19. The concept incorporates guidelines that enable all exhibiting businesses to make a streamlined and inspiring impression. We urge everyone to take a break from building large-scale, temporary constructions that cannot be reused. Our aim is to support the industry – many have had a tough time financially and we want to show our solidarity. In line with values that we consider to be classically Scandinavian, we’ve developed a concept with an emphasis on:
Accessibility – Open stands, manageable and welcoming for ease of contact
Solidarity – We’ve cut costs so more exhibitors can take part
Sustainability – We’ve reduced the risk of materials and products being discarded after the fair
Safety – Open, airy stands with wide aisles create a better environment for COVID-19 measures, make social distancing easier and ensure a safe event for visitors.
As always, you can choose between using your own stand builder or buying a turnkey stand package from Stockholmsmässan. For maximum effect, all exhibitors must follow the guidelines. This ensures consistency while still offering plenty of scope to be creative and generate a buzz around your brand.
Digitalization
As well as The Nude Edition we’ll also be introducing elements of digitalization to parts of the fair – as a support and complement to the physical meeting place. We’ll shortly be announcing more about this initiative, which was already being planned before COVID-19 and will allow those unable to attend in person to enjoy what the fair has to offer.
Spotlight on health and safety
We’re also in the middle of thorough work to improve the safety and security of our visitors and exhibitors. We’ll be presenting this work in detail soon, with measures including reviewing daily visitor numbers, directing ticket sales online to avoid ticket desk queues, wide enough aisles, essential hygiene measures, and not least The Nude Edition, which gives visitors an airy and open environment to enjoy.
Let’s do this together and make the industry stronger!
