Oona is a stool family designed by Antti Kotilainen for Martela, available in two seat versions — a solid wood seat and a fully upholstered seat — and in several different seat heights.

The range is part of the wider Oona product family, and the stools share its design language: approachable, considered and rooted in a domestic warmth that makes the pieces feel at ease in a variety of settings.

The solid wood legs are consistent across both seat versions, grounding the stools in the material character of the Oona family and giving them a visual coherence regardless of which seat option is chosen.

The upholstered version introduces softness for environments where comfort over longer periods is a priority, while the solid wood seat version maintains a cleaner, more formal presence.

The availability of multiple seat heights makes Oona flexible across different furniture configurations — bar height, counter height or standard seating — without requiring different design languages to be mixed. This range of heights, combined with the two seat options, gives the stool family a breadth that suits both residential and contract environments where consistent design language across different functions is valued.

Antti Kotilainen is a Finnish designer whose work includes furniture and spatial projects across residential and contract contexts. Martela is a Finnish furniture manufacturer with a long history of producing furniture for workplaces, educational environments and public spaces, with a portfolio that balances ergonomic function with considered design.
