A few years ago, he was known in the design business as “the one to watch”. Today, Benjamin Hubert’s designs are internationally known and recognised, and on 28 August 2013 he is visiting the new design fair in Bella Center, DesignTrade Copenhagen.
Benjamin Hubert studied industrial design and technology at Loughborough University, and has had his own design studio in London since 2009. His work focuses on industrial design within furniture and lighting, and he has received several design prizes, such as Design of the Year (British Design Awards 2010), Best Product (100% design/Blueprint awards 2009) and EDIDA International Young Designer of the Year 2010.
At DesignTrade, Benjamin Hubert will talk about his products and working methods:
“The public can look forward to being shown many of the different design products which we work with at the studio and learn about the working process in relation to construction, context and the use of materials,” says Benjamin Hubert.
The young designer is looking forward to visiting both DesignTrade and Copenhagen:
“I think the idea of a design fair in Copenhagen sounds very exciting, and I’m looking forward to seeing the final result in August. I also love Copenhagen as a city – design is part and parcel of Danish culture, and I make a point of visiting the capital a couple of times a year,” says Benjamin Hubert.
In addition to Benjamin Hubert, visitors will also find Erik Müller, the materials expert from Futation, who will talk about and show the latest materials, as well as the architect, designer and journalist Thomas Dickson, who will give a talk on the future for Danish design.
DesignTrade Copenhagen will be held for the first time on 28-30 August 2013.
