Designmuseum Danmark invites all design enthusiasts @ 3daysofdesign

3daysofdesign Designmuseum Danmark

Strong Programme for 3daysofdesign at Designmuseum Danmark From 10–12 June, Designmuseum Danmark invites all design enthusiasts inside for an abundant event programme during this year’s design festival.

Last year, as many as 13,000 people visited the design museum during 3daysofdesign. In addition to talks, workshops, atmospheric long-table dinners and a bar in the museum garden, this year’s programme also features a spectacular pavilion stage designed by Henrik Vibskov, a marking of the 100th anniversary of Verner Panton, and a brand new exhibition about the design agency Kontrapunkt’s many years of practice.

For this year’s design festival, audiences at the design museum can experience a comprehensive programme of talks, exhibitions, workshops and activities that bring together designers, architects, artists and design enthusiasts around the theme Make this moment matter. The theme focuses on the present as decisive for future design choices, and on how conscious, emotional and meaningful design processes can help shape a more responsible relationship between people, products and the planet.

The programme opens on Wednesday 10 June at 11:00, when the museum’s director Anne-Louise Sommer gives a welcome address, and designer Henrik Vibskov — who this autumn will be the subject of a major exhibition at the museum — speaks about the thinking behind the pavilion he has created specifically for the festival. Over the three days, a wide range of exciting contributors will join in the garden for conversations and talks on topics including zero waste, the role of design in society, European design culture and circular business models.

Verner Panton 100 years

2026 marks 100 years since Verner Panton was born. As a visionary figure in Danish design, he fundamentally reconsidered the relationship between people, space, form and colour, and expanded the language of design. During 3daysofdesign, Designmuseum Danmark marks the Verner Panton centenary with a selection of furniture and lamps by the designer, which audiences can experience in various locations throughout the design museum — from the museum café to the forecourt. On Thursday 11 June at 18:00, the celebration culminates with drinks and a talk about Verner Panton’s life and work by Ida Engholm, professor at The Royal Danish Academy, followed by a musical performance by the jazz duo Cort Lunde.

Exhibition with Kontrapunkt Friday 12 June also sees the opening of a new exhibition as part of the festival programme. Over four decades, the design agency Kontrapunkt has left a significant mark on Denmark and shaped the visual narrative for banks, ministries and museums, among others. In a new LABORATORIUM exhibition, audiences can get up close to selected brand cases and gain a unique insight into the story behind well-known institutions’ visual identities.

A vibrant festival programme

Throughout 3daysofdesign, activities run continuously across the museum’s areas. Brunch is served in the museum café from early morning, and during the day both the pop-up bar in the garden and Lille Format on the forecourt are open, offering the opportunity to purchase cold and hot drinks as well as a light bite to eat. In the evenings, long-table dinners are held in the garden.

Participation in all 3daysofdesign activities at the design museum is free of charge, but the museum’s exhibitions require an entrance ticket. All talks are held in English.
