Personal and practical. Embla is a table with dual functionality.
Its two levels take care of objects with different energies: moving around or standing still. Embla is designed by Elsa Ekdahl and Anne Skoug Obel, who started by considering the table’s functionalities and its role in various everyday settings. Tables often subordinate the objects placed on them. Therefore Embla has two different tops: a bigger one for objects that come and go and a smaller one for things that stay put, e.g. a flower pot. Or vice versa. The functionality is open. The countryside around the Gärsnäs factory in Österlen inspired the organic shapes of the table tops. Possessing a charming hint of play furniture, Embla is a fine accompaniment to sofas and easy chairs in both public spaces and private homes. Embla is available in oak and beech. Painted or stained. The glass plate comes as clear or in a bronzed tone. The table can be transported as a flat pack.
“We started by considering the table’s functionalities and its
role in various everyday settings. How do we use different
surfaces and how do they feel? We wanted to make an
appealing item for both public and private environments.”

Welcome to our stand C 08:41
This year, Gärsnäs shares a stand with Kasthall. Furniture and rugs go together; furthermore, we like each other and have a mutual appreciation for style, quality and sustainability.
