Eva Hild’s organic sculptures balance between strength and fragility, June 14 – August 23 2025
Eva Hild’s organic sculptures balance between strength and fragilitypresence and absence, openness and closure. Her works have the ability to touch and amaze the viewer; they twist and turn. Eva describes her sculptures as abstract self-portraits – bodies with thin walls where outer and inner worlds meet. The thin shell functions as a membrane between the outside world and the self – a manifestation of pressure and movement.
Eva Hild (born 1966 in Lidköping) lives and works in Sparsör outside Borås. She was educated at HDK-Valand in Gothenburg. After completing her master’s degree in ceramic art in 1998, she has participated in numerous exhibitions and created public artworks worldwide.
In the summer of 2025, the work HOLD will be inaugurated along the waterfront promenade in Lidköping. In the exhibition “Hold On,” we get the opportunity to follow the process from sketch assignment to completed artwork and gain insight into Eva’s work with public art. The exhibition offers a unique chance to deepen one’s understanding of Eva’s artistry and experience material not previously shown.
