ARTIST TALK
Saturday, November 9th, 2-3pm
Nancy Margolis Gallery is excited to present Eva Hild’s fifth solo exhibition at the gallery. Join us for the opening reception next Thursday, November 7th, from 6pm until 8pm. Hild will give an Artist Talk at the gallery on Saturday, November 9th, from 2pm until 3pm. Both the reception and the talk are free and open to the public.
The sculptures in this exhibition are made of stoneware clay, with the exception of Hold(2019), which is cast in aluminum, painted white, and the largest sculpture in the group. Its metal structure allows it to serve as an indoor or an outdoor sculpture. Hild hand-builds each ceramic piece using a traditional coil technique. The eight new sculptures that make up this solo exhibition recall Hild’s early work that established her reputation as Sweden’s most eminent contemporary sculptor. At the same time, they present strikingly fresh perspectives that signal a noteworthy evolution in her artistic language.
