Festivitas 15/6–8/9 2024 @ Form/Design Center

A tribute to crafts! In the exhibition, we meet 21 artists who use their expertise in craftsmanship and knowledge of materials to create a celebration of contemporary crafts.

Festivitas represents solemnity, gala, party, party joy, pomp and show! In the exhibition, you will be greeted by pompous chandeliers, magnificent objects in glass, ceramics and paper, party equipment, bling and neon together with chips and a hefty beer note. Everything that can be included in a wonderful party!

But a party is not always just a party. The exhibition also provides space for works that deal with the back sides of the party, such as leftovers from the after-party’s fast food and an environmental hangover. At the intersection between the beautiful and the repulsive, the glittering flower arrangement can become a little unsightly.

7 X ART CRAFTS
The exhibition series 7 x arts and crafts is a collaboration between Arts and Crafts Center and Form/Design Center. During the years 2020 – 2024, contemporary arts and crafts have been presented in individual exhibitions as well as group exhibitions on a theme. The purpose of 7 x arts and crafts is to draw attention to the arts and crafts as an artistic discipline of its own, spread knowledge about and strengthen the display opportunities for arts and crafts in Scania.
