Gunnel Sahlin Glass Exhibition Opens at Galleri Anna H
Swedish glass artist Gunnel Sahlin presented Meddelande från FÄRG — Message from COLOUR — at Galleri Anna H in November 2017.
The exhibition ran from 11 to 26 November, with a vernissage on Saturday, 11 November.
Sahlin is one of Sweden’s most recognised glass artists, known for decades of work with Kosta Boda where she developed a practice centred on colour, transparency, and the expressive potential of blown glass. Her work moves between the functional and the purely sculptural, with a particular sensitivity to how light travels through and transforms coloured glass.
Meddelande från FÄRG brought together works in which colour takes on communicative weight — surfaces and forms that carry mood and meaning without relying on representation. Sahlin’s approach to colour is rarely decorative; it operates as structure, as atmosphere, as a kind of signal.
Galleri Anna H is an independent gallery with a focus on contemporary Swedish craft and applied art. The gallery regularly presents solo exhibitions by established artists working in glass, ceramics, and textile.
