History Pendant by Kasper Salto & Thomas Sigsgaard – FDB Møbler

HISTORY pendant by Kasper Salto and Thomas Sigsgaard for FDB Møbler featuring design that references the brand's cooperative heritage

FDB Møbler launches the History pendant in collaboration with Kasper Salto and Thomas Sigsgaard — a modern tribute to the light design of the past.

History combines aesthetics and functionality in a timeless pendant that elevates lighting design into the future.

HISTORY The lightning collection, History, is a nod to the past and a tribute to the designers who worked with light and lamps long before us.

We stand on the shoulders of centuries of design tradition that has been gradually refined and developed. History emphasizes the proud tradition, but with a little twinkle in the eye. The starting point is one of the most iconic lamp shapes: the slender conical frame of soldered wire with a light source in the centre. Throughout history, we haven’t seen much of the frame, which has been hidden behind beautiful lampshades with changing visual expressions and shapes. In History, however, there are no lampshades, instead the frame finally comes to light and gets the attention that the shades have received for centuries.

Salto & Sigsgaard
Kasper Salto (1967) and Thomas Sigsgaard (1966) have worked together under the name Salto & Sigsgaard since 2003 and has harvested both awards and been represented at leading exhibitions. One of their most significant tasks is that they have designed a new conference chair, as well as tables for the advice hall in the UN – which Finn Juhl otherwise designed and designed furniture for in the early 1950s. Kasper Salto, born in 1967, is a trained carpenter and industrial designer. Thomas Sigsgaard, born in 1966, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and also had a long career behind him before establishing a study with Kasper Salto in 2003.
