I wish to create products with soul, on the basis of realistic and simple ideas. I always take account of the industrial production process right from the start, without ever losing sight of the creative idea.
My aim is to create quality design in co-operation with manufacturers and suppliers. Today the industry possesses at treasure chest of knowledge regarding exciting manufacture techniques and new materials, which designers and the product industry can usefully draw upon. Applied in the right way, new industrial production techniques can help to create designer products with a strong and individual expression.
Vision
At Jakob Thau design the ambition is to create products that raises the professional, creative and production-related standards of the people around, and the driving force is a love of good craftsmanship and a desire to explore both new and familiar materials.
