Katholm Etna Series handmade in Aarhus design by Hans Sandgren Jakobsen – Noeje

THE KATHOLM ETNA SERIES
NEW! Our popular KATHOLM Series is now available in an exclusive black variant. During the production of our KATHOLM Series, a small number of stools developed minor discolorations on the surface – Instead of letting these stools go to waste, we have given them new life using the traditional Japanese technique Shou Sugi Ban! Besides the beautiful black finish, this technique also extends the furniture’s lifespan. The ETNA Series is offered as an exclusive variant of the KATHOLM Series and is handmade to order.

The Katholm Series
The Katholm Series is designed by Danish designer and furniture maker Hans Sandgren Jakobsen.

The design emphasizes wood as a living natural material through the characteristic cracks, grain patterns, and knots, giving each product a natural, tactile, and unique expression.

The simple, sculptural form gives the furniture many different applications – the piece can be used as a side table, stool, bedside table, or as a sculptural plant stand.

Limited Quantity
The product series is made from solid wood from the forest surrounding Katholm Manor in Djursland.

The series is only produced in limited quantities corresponding to the trees that have been felled to maintain a healthy and well-functioning forest. The wood is harvested in collaboration with Hede Danmark, which works to promote the development of natural values and natural resources in Denmark.
