The collection builds on the Finnish heritage of bent plywood furniture

Designed in New York with Snarkitecture and manufactured in Halikko, the Lieksa collection made its debut at 3 Days of Design in Copenhagen during summer 2025, showcasing a year of collaborative development. The collection is named after the city “Lieksa” in Finland, where Snarkitecture designer Alex Mustonen has his roots. Designed to foster creativity, social connection, and collaboration, the collection demonstrates what happens when different cultures and design languages meet – the results are often unique and unexpected.

Lieksa collection features soft, comfortable, and warm elements to contrast the industrial feel familiar in many creative spaces. The shape imitates the rough landscapes of Lieksa: high forested hills, stark edges and bare rocks.

LEIKSA Chair:
Designed in New York, NY by Snarkitecture and produced in Halikko, Finland by Made By Choice. The collection builds on the Finnish heritage of bent plywood furniture. The chairs adapt a simple design that involves a single piece of bent plywood that splits to form the seat and legs.

LIEKSA lounge chair:
Experience the fusion of New York design and Finnish craftsmanship with the Lieksa lounge chair. Handcrafted in Halikko, this chair features a single piece of bent plywood that splits to create the seat and legs. Truly a standout addition to any lounge or living space. Material: Birch plywood. Dimensions: Width: 62 cm. Depth: 68 cm. Height: 80 cm. Seat height: 35 cm.

LEIKSA Round Table:
The tables feature a concealed compartment to store small items such as phones, notebooks, pens, etc. The lid of the compartment can be reversed to reveal a hidden landscape that can be used as decor or a rest for smaller items. Material: Birch plywood. Dimensions: Ø 120 cm. Height 74 cm.
