Lumi pouf by Lisa Hilland for Together initiative with snowflake pattern and sustainable construction

During Stockholm Design Week 2022, Grand Relations and NK Inredning hosted an  preview presenting the new collection Lumi Pouf designed by Lisa Hilland and the initiative Together – a new design collaboration project that aims to show how we all can inspire each other and build a sense of community.

By putting profits towards a scholarship for young designers, Together also strengthens the regrowth and future of the design industry.

Swedish designer Lisa Hilland created the Lumi Pouf as part of her Mylhta design range, drawing inspiration from ice and snow formations in Scandinavian nature. The design was presented through the Together initiative, highlighting collaborative approaches to sustainable design.

Lisa Hilland (b. 1973) studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art in London, where she developed an international perspective that complements her Scandinavian design heritage. After a decade working in London, she returned to Sweden to establish her own studio.

Her work spans furniture design to interior accessories, with clients including Gemla, Gärsnäs, Orrefors, Design House Stockholm, and Svenskt Tenn. In 2018, she founded Mylhta—named after the traditional Jämtland word for Arctic cloudberry—a design range focused on natural materials and sustainable production.

Hilland’s design philosophy centers on emotional connection: “For me, design is about emotions, communicating with another human being via an object. The materials are extremely important in this process, as they create curiosity and enhance the object’s properties.”

Her awards include the Lauritz Icon Award (2017) for the Bow Chair designed for Gemla, Furniture of the Year from Sköna Hem (2019) for the Anno Cabinet, Furniture of the Year from Form Magazine (2019) for the Mylhta Stool, and Plaza Interiör’s Sustainability Prize (2021).
