Märta Friman (b. 1975, Stockholm) is a Swedish interior architect and furniture designer known for her refined approach to Scandinavian design.
She established her own studio in Stockholm in 2003 and graduated from Konstfack – University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in 2005.
Friman’s design philosophy combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics. Her client list includes renowned Swedish furniture manufacturers such as Gärsnäs, Materia, and Svenskt Tenn, reflecting her position within the upper tier of Scandinavian design.
Her work has earned significant recognition within the Swedish design community. In 2006, she received the Young Swedish Design award for her table system Ava, designed for Materia AB. The same year saw the launch of her Bond table series for Gärsnäs AB.
Friman’s designs are characterized by attention to material quality and functional elegance, contributing to the ongoing evolution of Swedish furniture design tradition.
