The Salone Internazionale del Mobile returns to Milan’s Rho Fiera fairgrounds from 21 to 26 April 2026 for its 64th edition.
The world’s leading furniture trade fair brings together exhibitors presenting new products in furnishings, domestic spaces and lighting — from bedrooms and living areas to outdoor environments — with a focus on material and functional innovation.
Salone in the City
Beyond the fairgrounds, the Salone extends across Milan itself. For the sixth consecutive year, the fair renews its partnership with the Teatro alla Scala Foundation. The opening evening features a concert by the Teatro alla Scala Orchestra conducted by Michele Mariotti, with pianist Giuseppe Albanese performing works from Mozart to Tchaikovsky.
In Piazza della Scala, the Design Kiosk returns as a cultural venue and gathering point. Curated by Reading Room, the open-air programme runs daily from 17 to 26 April with talks at 6.30 pm, covering architecture, independent publishing and design narrative. Participants include Cose Journal, NONSENSE, Ark Journal, Holiday Interiors and Gardens, C Magazine and Never Too Small.
Architectures of Freedom
A second city programme, Architectures of Freedom, is developed by Bianca Felicori, founder of Forgotten Architecture. Starting from a newsstand in Piazza Sant’Eustorgio, the route connects five significant buildings in Milan: the Sormani Library by Arrigo Arrighetti, the Collegio di Milano by Marco Zanuso, the Casa a Tre Cilindri by Bruno Morassutti and Angelo Mangiarotti, the Church of San Giovanni Bono by Arrigo Arrighetti and a building by Luigi Moretti on Corso Italia. Each stop features temporary textile installations by K-WAY.
City Guide
The printed and digital city guide Salone in the City maps 150 locations across Milan — showrooms, museums, foundations and neighbourhood highlights — beyond the duration of Design Week itself. On the evening of 24 April, Common Archive — La Notte Bianca del Progetto invites visitors to explore a design heritage programme supported by the Lombardy Region and the Municipality of Milan.
