Muuto is excited to present the Beam Table Lamp Large, a natural evolution of the recently updated Beam Lamp Family designed by Tom Chung. Reimagining the original from 2018 on another scale, the new iteration merges a big presence with elevated features and user-centric functionality.
The new Beam Table Lamp Large offers the same intuitive functionality as its predecessor but takes a significant leap forward in both size and materiality. Sitting comfortably between a floor and a table lamp, this new version is versatile for various settings. Whether placed on the floor for striking visual effect, or on a low console or shelf for a more ambient glow.
The lamp features a smooth, brushed aluminum body that invites interaction, with a seamless, fluid movement that makes it easy to reposition. Its cylindrical shape emits light from both ends, with a playful dial that allows the user to adjust light intensity and direction. It suits a wide range of lighting needs-from accent lighting to sculptural light object.
Playful light
“The idea for the Beam Lamp came while renovating my childhood home. I had built a divider between the hallway and living room and needed a lamp that could throw light out into both spaces at the very same time,” says designer Tom Chung.
Beam Table Lamp is a versatile table lamp with a contemporary spirit and intuitive functionality. Casting light from both ends of a cylinder shape, it enables the user to choose between three different volumes of light, gradually altering the volume through the turn of a playful dial.
“The design mimics a single ray of light that travels through a round tube, with a dimmer that allows you to tweak that light to your personal needs,” says Chung.
The lamp can be altered for any position with its rotating base and sleek body for direct lighting or for an ambient glow.
