For the fifth year in a row Muuto invites design and architecture students around Scandinavia to participate in the annual design contest – Muuto Talent Award.

Each year Muuto hosts Muuto Talent Award where Scandinavian design and architecture students, are invited to submit their designs in the hope of becoming the new Muuto designer.

To Muuto good design starts with the person. The brightest design talents in Scandinavia are given the freedom to express their individual story through everyday objects. Muuto look for designers that give the designs diversity, personality and character, while still maintaining a link to the Nordic heritage – a heritage, Muuto is proud of and that all our current designers carry with them, as part of their professional luggage.

Muuto Talent Award is not just an event, but a genuine quest for new talents. This also means that previous years’ winning designs have been successfully integrated into the Muuto product portfolio. Take for example the Nerd Chair by David Geckeler, which was the 2011 winning design – it is today one of the most iconic Muuto products, and has recently been launched in a new barstool version.
