Seven Norwegian architecture companies have been nominated for a total of 15 awards at this year’s WAF in Amsterdam.

– I am thrilled to hear that there is great international interest in Norwegian architecture. To promote our architecture abroad has been an important task for this government. Norwegian architecture is based on the Norwegian model of society, and creates inclusive and sustainable buildings and environments. This acknowledgement shows that we are on the right path, says the Minister of Culture, Trine Skei Grande.

World Architecture Festival is an annual event and awards ceremony for architects from all over the world. The Norwegian projects are nominated in 11 of WAF’s 35 project categories, from master planning to villas, demonstrating the wide scope of current architecture practice in Norway.

– This is totally unprecedented and testifies to the great international interest in Norwegian architecture, says Tor Inge Hjemdal, CEO of Design and Architecture Norway.

The selection and final presentation of the awards will take place at the World Architecture Festival in Amsterdam from the 28th to the 30th November 2018.
