Orgatec 2024 runs from 22 to 25 October and marks a significant shift for the leading international trade fair dedicated to the future of work.

After decades as the primary global platform for office furniture, workplace design and contract interiors, Orgatec is reinventing its format to better reflect how working life has changed.

The 2024 edition introduces a shorter event duration, a revised hall layout, and a series of focus areas designed to address specific themes and target groups with greater precision. Digital innovations are integrated into the programme, and the overall structure is repositioned to be more topic-centred, efficient and responsive to current developments in workplace culture and design.

Orgatec is held at Koelnmesse in Cologne and takes place every two years. It draws exhibitors and visitors from the global furniture and interiors industry, with particular relevance for manufacturers of office seating, systems furniture, acoustic solutions and workplace accessories. Scandinavian brands with a strong contract focus — including companies specialising in seating, tables and modular systems — are consistently well represented at the fair.

The 2024 edition’s new concept reflects a broader shift in how trade fairs are approaching their role: moving away from the traditional volume-based model towards more curated, content-driven formats that offer visitors a clearer reason to attend.
