During Stockholm Design Week Per Söderberg launched Bespoke Collection.
Swedish architect and designer Per Söderberg has expanded his furniture brand No Early Birds with a Bespoke Collection — a limited-edition range produced at his workshop in Stockholm.
The collection grows out of the Anniversary series Söderberg created to mark the brand’s tenth year, which itself signalled a shift toward more sculptural, material-led design.
The Bespoke line carries forward pieces from that collection — a chair, a large glass-top dining table, and the multifunctional Cube — and extends the range with new coffee and side tables.
What defines the Bespoke Collection is its relationship to material. Rather than selecting a material to serve a predetermined design, Söderberg reversed the process: starting with a slab of Calacatta marble, one of the world’s most sought-after stones, he drew each piece directly from what that particular slab offered. Because Calacatta is characterised by a pronounced dark grain against a white ground — and because every slab is unique — no two pieces in the collection are identical.
Other materials in the collection include solid American walnut, Tärnsjö leather, and stainless steel. The signature cross-leg structure and visible brass or steel assembly details, recurring elements throughout No Early Birds, remain present throughout.
Per Söderberg established his design studio in Stockholm in 1997 after completing a master’s degree at Domus Academy in Milan. No Early Birds, which he founded in 2010, combines Scandinavian functionalism with an Italian sensibility for material and form. All pieces are designed and produced entirely in Sweden.
