Furniture designed for public spaces. We all regularly encounter this type of furniture. “Kindly take a seat. There will be a brief wait.”
We are positioned in a room with strangers. We do what we can to ignore each other. Hide in the furniture. The atmosphere quickly resembles indifference.
Seesaw is an alternative. An upholstered seesaw for three. When seated alone, one sits crookedly, or out of balance.
When several people share the seesaw, communication becomes unavoidable.
And it is difficult not to smile.
