Stockholm Design Talks presented British designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby during Stockholm Furniture Fair 2016.

The celebrated design duo, known for shaping contemporary British design, shared insights into their creative practice and philosophy.

Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby founded their London studio in 1996 after meeting
while studying architecture at the Royal College of Art. Their diverse portfolio spans
furniture, lighting, product design, and large-scale installations, with clients including
Vitra, Knoll, B&B Italia, Flos, Cappellini, and Magis.

The duo gained international recognition for designing the London 2012 Olympic Torch,
a project that brought their work to a global audience. Other notable achievements
include a £2 coin commemorating the 150th anniversary of London Underground and
numerous furniture classics such as the Tip Ton chair for Vitra (2011) and the Loop
Table for Isokon (1996).

Barber and Osgerby have received numerous accolades including the Jerwood Prize
(2004), Royal Designers for Industry status (2007), and Officers of the Order of the
British Empire (2013) for services to the design industry. In 2015, they received the
London Design Medal.

Their work is held in permanent collections at the V&A Museum London, Metropolitan
Museum of Art New York, Design Museum London, Art Institute of Chicago, and Vitra
Design Museum. The duo also founded Universal Design Studio (2001) for architecture
and interiors, and Map Project Office (2012) for strategic industrial design.
