BENT HANSEN BECOMES A PART OF SIBAST FURNITURE
– TWO DANISH DESIGN LEGACIES UNITED

Two strong traditions of Danish furniture design and craftsmanship unite as of October 1st, 2025, when Bent Hansen becomes part of Sibast Furniture. Going forward, all activities will continue in Sibast Furniture.

Bent Hansen, with its strong and renowned heritage within upholstery and comfort, and Sibast Furniture, deeply rooted in the Danish design tradition with a focus on wooden furniture from the 1950s onwards, now merge their collections and expertise under the Sibast Furniture brand.

The acquisition of Bent Hansen takes place with the ambition to create an even stronger and more versatile platform founded on craftsmanship, quality, and timeless design. The decision to join forces is built on a shared respect for Danish furniture tradition and a desire to offer customers a more complete design experience.

By integrating Bent Hansen’s collection into Sibast Furniture, a new whole is created where wood craftsmanship and upholstery artistry meet. The merger provides a solid foundation to carry forward the legacy and to shape the design of the future – where aesthetics, functionality, and comfort go hand in hand.

A united team of visionary people stands behind this step. Michael Ring, owner of Stelton and the future Chairman of the Board at Sibast Furniture, together with businessman Jesper Wadum, have played a central role in establishing the foundation for this union. At the same time, Henrik Hvid Hansen, former CEO of Bent Hansen, will continue within Sibast Furniture and enter into close collaboration with Anna and Ditlev Sibast in the management. The ownership structure will consist of Anna and Ditlev Sibast as principal shareholders, alongside the companies of Henrik Hvid Hansen, Jesper Wadum Nielsen, and Michael Ring. Together, two proud design histories merge into a new joint narrative of Danish design heritage carried forward by Sibast Furniture.

“We are excited for this new journey, where together we can continue and further develop the legacy of both Bent Hansen and Sibast Furniture. It is a unique opportunity to bring the best of two traditions together and create the framework for new, strong design stories,” say Anna and Ditlev Sibast.

With this union, a foundation is created where more than 175 years of combined experience in furniture craftsmanship are united under one brand – to the benefit of both today’s and tomorrow’s generations of design enthusiasts.

“I am proud to see the company my grandfather founded become part of Sibast Furniture. Together we stand stronger, and I look forward to carrying Bent Hansen’s designs into a new and strengthened context, where the great potential embedded in the legacy and expertise of both companies can be realized,” says Henrik Hvid Hansen.
