Swedish designer Jonas Wagell has developed the Punto armchair collection for Spanish furniture brand Vergés

— a range built on soft, enveloping upholstery and a restrained formal language that prioritises longevity over trend.

The collection launches with two armchairs: the Punto Armchair and the more compact Punto Compact Chair. Both share the same soft, embracing character and are designed with extended use in mind — long dinners, drawn-out conversations, hospitality environments where chairs are occupied for hours at a time.

The distinction between the two models is deliberate. The Punto Compact Chair has a smaller footprint and a lighter visual presence, making it a practical counterpart to the standard armchair in larger interiors. In restaurant or hotel settings with multiple seats, the two versions can be combined to add variation and rhythm to a space without breaking formal coherence.

Wagell’s approach keeps the silhouette clean and the proportions honest. The upholstered seat wraps the sitter with a softness that reads clearly in the chair’s outline — a shape that functions as well in a private dining room as in a contract lounge.
