An intimate iteration of the Panorama collection

Wendelbo introduces the Panorama Lounge Chair – a new design by Jonas Wagell that distils the Panorama collection into a refined, sculptural form.

Shaped by a gentle curve and guided by balanced proportions, the lounge chair offers a calm place to unwind.

“Once in a while a design concept comes instantly as a natural instinct, with a form and shape that appears obvious and self-explanatory,” says Jonas Wagell. “The new Panorama Lounge Chair was materialised as a thirty-second sketchbook scribble at the end of a meeting, in search of new use and relevance for a rounded backrest to the sofa range.”

At the heart of the design is this continuous curved backrest that creates a sense of enclosure without heaviness. Fully upholstered to the floor, the silhouette appears grounded and cohesive, allowing the chair to settle naturally within its surroundings. Slender proportions and subtle piping sharpen the outline, bringing lightness and quiet precision to the generous volume while reinforcing the collection’s composed character.

“Round shapes offer flexible placement since they can be moved and rotated freely without obvious direction,” Wagell explains. “For a lounge chair, of course, this translates into using a swivel base.” The shape of the chair is partly inherited from the armrest module of the Panorama Lounge Sofa, translating the collection’s character into a free-standing piece.

Designed to work both independently and as part of a larger setting, the Panorama Lounge Chair introduces movement and flexibility to the Panorama collection. Used alongside the sofa or placed separately, it offers outstanding seating comfort while remaining true to the collection’s clear, sculptural identity.
