New Danish designs highlight form and function

AGITARI is the name of a new elegant shell chair designed by Peter Karpf. The chair’s thin, elegant wooden shell and its four characteristic corners give a stunning first impression. Its form leads thoughts to a piece of gauze fluttering lightly in the breeze; hence the Latin name AGITARI, which means ‘something waving in the wind’.

The chair is a result of Peter Karpf’s many years of pioneering work with plywood. This exciting material has many uses and has made it possible for Peter Karpf to create a wooden shell with minimal thickness that gives sublime comfort by supporting the body’s own form.

The world premiere of the AGITARI will be held at
Fredericia Furniture’s showroom in Copenhagen on May 10-13, 2007.
