Åke Anshelm Leopold Axelsson, born February 25, 1932 in Urshult, is a Swedish interior designer and furniture designer.
Åke Axelsson trained at Visby city engineering school for carpentry 1947-51, which praktikanr in a carpentry workshop in Munich 1951-52 and the Art Academy’s Department of the furniture and furnishings in Stockholm 1952-57. He has worked in our own workshop from 1961.
Åke Axelsson has worked with Gärsnäs AB in Gärsnäs since 1963 and has since 1987 been a partner in Gallery Stolen AB, with its own production and sales of furniture. He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Art since 1989, was Prince Eugen Medal 1994, and was professor’s name 1995.
