The Boxlike sofa is a versatile piece of design
Boxlike is a sofa designed by Anna von Schewen for Fogia.
The design was conceived with public spaces in mind — lobbies, reception areas and contract environments where furniture must perform reliably across high use — but its controlled proportions and honest construction give it equal credibility in residential settings.
The sofa’s form is dominated by strong, straight lines. The name Boxlike is accurate: the silhouette is precise and geometric, with a tight footprint that makes it practical where space is measured. Despite the compact scale, the seating position is described as comfortable and supportive — a balance that can be difficult to achieve with such a restrained form.
Boxlike is available as a two-seater or three-seater. The construction and upholstery work together to give the piece a consistency of character across both formats.
Anna von Schewen is a Swedish designer and architect who graduated from the University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. She has been working with Fogia since the mid-2010s, and her designs for the manufacturer consistently explore the boundary between the precision of contract furniture and the warmth expected in residential design. Fogia is a Swedish furniture brand with a focus on design-led products for both home and hospitality environments.
