Bimbo Table Celebrating 30 Years by Peter Brandt for Blå Station

The one we could never live without

A stool is a tool and none more so than our beloved Bimbo!

Congratulations and thank you Bimbo for 30 active years in service! We know there will be many more to come!

Bimbo is a stackable stool made of compression moulded wood and has been a bestseller and a classic in the Blå Station collection since Peter Brandt came up with his easy-going yet perfectly exact design 1994. The light stool can be used everywhere, just use the cut-out in the middle to grab Bimbo and shuffle it around for a temporary seating place or as an aid to stretch for out of reach places. Bimbo is as much a part of the interior design in use or stacked away in graphically intriguing little towers.

Bimbo was instantly recognized and won Forsnäspriset in the year of its launch, a joint award from the Swedish Institute for Furniture and the Forsnäs factory. In 2005 the Bimbo stool won the Guldstolen (Golden Chair) prize in the category “Excellent Classic” with the following motivation:

With its versatile uses and combination of elegance and playfulness Bimbo is at home in both castle and cottage. The furniture is suitable for today’s living with its simple stackability and lightness both in design and weight.

DESIGN | Peter Brandt 1994

All-round, versatile, renowned worldwide as worth the while. Watch it go to Tokyo, Paris, Rome and set the style.

A stool you can rely on, though its pedigree’s no fine one. A friendly type, without the hype, to get balanced view of life on.

Shapley chassis, empty heart, yet smarter still than average. Use it as a tray for tea, magazine by your TV, or a table for your favorite evening beverage.

A place to rest your aching feet, to sit and tie your shoes on.

Or a criss-cross tower in the corner of the room.

– With lots of reds and greens and golds and blues on.

This stack-a-back acrobat can take you to the moon, or higher still, if you will – is there nothing it can´t do?

A playmate, too, for children’s games, a stool for more than sitting. Climbing, striding, building, riding. For tunnels too it´s fitting.

A car as well, with open top, where you can feel the wind blow.

Always ready, always willing – a stool that we´ve called “Bimbo”!
