Background
Ogeborg has been a family-owned company since the early 1960s, now in its second generation, with showrooms in Stockholm and Gothenburg. The company has built its identity specifically around rugs and textile flooring rather than furniture more broadly, treating tactile quality as inseparable from durability.
Design philosophy
Ogeborg takes full responsibility for its environmental impact across the entire product journey — material selection, design, use, reuse and recycling — rather than treating sustainability as a separate initiative from the design process itself.
Key collaborations
Note Design Studio’s Dot Line XL, a handtufted rug collection, joined the range in 2023, the same year Tekla Evelina Severin introduced the geometric Segment collection. Sundling Kickén designed Space, and Axel Bjurström’s Zen Collection drew on the proportions of Japanese zen gardens. Claesson Koivisto Rune designed Marfa Crossroads, a leather rug that leaned on saddle- and boot-making traditions for its durability.
