EJ142 Waves sofa by Anne-Mette Jensen & Morten Ernst for Erik Jørgensen 1994. Danish design classic two-seater chaise lounge with organic wave forms
The EJ142 Waves sofa by Anne-Mette Jensen and Morten Ernst revolutionized Danish design when it won Erik Jørgensen’s 1994 talent competition. Created while the duo were still students at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, this two-seater chaise lounge features organic wave-like forms with cold foam upholstery and a black lacquered fiberglass base. The piece launched one of Denmark’s most successful design partnerships and established Erik Jørgensen’s commitment to nurturing emerging talent. Today, the Waves remains a classic example of contemporary Danish furniture design that balances sculptural beauty with functional excellence.
