Nestled within a historic motor torpedo boat hall, Holmen Abode in Copenhagen, Denmark, has been beautifully reimagined by Norm Architects. This architectural gem from the 90s now features timeless simplicity and modern elegance.
A dreamy fusion of Japanese and Scandinavian design elements invites tranquility and harmony, while the preservation of the inside original steel structure honor the building’s rich heritage, allowing it to form a robust framework for an exquisitely delicate home where heritage and modernity gracefully intertwine.
The space is designed to balance the vibrant views outside, creating a quiet canvas that lets the landscape take center stage. Natural materials, like oak wood, add warmth and timeless appeal, grounding the modern design in place and history.
Arv Chair has been selected for the dining room of Holmen Abode, enhancing the space with its tactile quality. This thoughtful choice adds warmth and sophistication, making the dining area a centerpiece of both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
“We’ve worked to embrace the purity of clean lines rooted in both Scandinavian and Japanese traditions alike. Additionally, natural materials play a pivotal role, imbuing each space with a sense of timelessness and grounding. Soft textiles further enrich the experience with their textures offering a tactile comfort that softens and enriches the room’s atmosphere.”
