The Ogle series was born from a simple observation by the design studio Form Us With Love
They wanted to create a lamp that had the functionality of a professional spotlight but the “personality” of a home furnishing.
The result is a design that has become a modern classic for the legendary Swedish lighting brand ateljé Lyktan.
Intelligent Simplicity
The genius of Ogle lies in its clean, spherical head and its intuitive functionality. It is a lamp designed to “gaze” at what you want to highlight, hence the name Ogle.
-
The Pivot: The lamp head is attached to the stand in a way that allows it to be tilted and rotated with ease. This provides precise, directional light—perfect for reading or illuminating a specific piece of art.
-
The Silhouette: The floor version features a slender, vertical stem and a weighted circular base, echoing the geometry of the lamp head.
-
The Material: The head is made of die-cast aluminum, giving it a premium weight and feel, finished with a soft-touch matte lacquer.

Form Us With Love’s Logic
Form Us With Love is known for “rational” design, and Ogle is a prime example. They stripped away all unnecessary components until only the most essential form remained.
-
Tactile Experience: The switch is often integrated seamlessly or placed on the cord, keeping the visual lines of the aluminum body uninterrupted.
-
The “Eye” Aesthetic: The deep-set light source minimizes glare, while the spherical shape makes the lamp look like a curious eye watching over the room.
Versatile Applications
Because of its architectural purity, the Ogle floor lamp is a favorite among interior designers for:
-
Reading Nooks: Providing focused light without taking up visual space.
-
Galleries & Showrooms: Acting as a mobile spotlight to highlight displays.
-
Minimalist Living Rooms: Serving as a subtle, graphic accent.
Technical Highlights:
-
Manufacturer: ateljé Lyktan (Åhus, Sweden).
-
Material: Die-cast aluminum and steel.
-
Finishes: Originally launched in matte black and matte white; later expanded to include various colors and “Ogle Mini” versions.
-
Light Source: Originally designed for halogen, now updated with high-quality, dimmable LED modules.
“Ogle is a design that looks back at you. It is a functional tool that managed to become an icon through its sheer simplicity.”

Ogle
We welcome two new members of the family, Ogle floor and 3-phase. Shape-wise, Ogle’s very own expression. Design: Form Us With Love.

Flexible spotlight with its own expression
In 2009, design studio Form Us With Love created the luminaire called Ogle. There was a gap in the market for spotlights that could be easily adjusted to direct the light. ”We wanted a lamp that looks good by itself but also among a group of lamps”.
Material & design
Ogle sees design in a light all of its own. The luminaire has a lampshade in die-cast aluminium in size of a melon and at the bottom of the globe a LED eye keeps watch. An eye that can shift its gaze thanks to a groove on top of the lamp.
